16 Khartoum Street

Kate and Sam of Kasa Made documented this renovation as it happened. The demolition, the framing, the finishes chosen and re-chosen, the planning behind every decision.

Much of it was filmed close up: the tiling, the paving, the caulking. Nothing was done off camera, so you already know the standard of the work sitting behind the walls.

What began as a period weatherboard on a quiet West Footscray street is now a four-bedroom home built around the way a family actually lives. The original street frontage was restored, from the verandah to the red brick piers and the picket fence. Everything behind it is new.
